8. Approved the Sodexo Snow Removal Plan for the 2016-2017 School
Year.
(Last month) Move that the Board of Education approve the renewal addendum with Sodexo Management, Inc. to manage and operate the District’s Food Service operation from July 1, 2016 thru June 30, 2017 at a cost of $172,473.00 for General Support Services and $179,012.00 for Management Fee. 10.WHEREAS, the Lakewood School District projects a general fund
deficit of approximately $12,000,000 at June 30, 2016; and
WHEREAS, such deficit would have a severe impact on the district's
cash-flow and ability to meet its financial obligations in school year
2016-2017; and WHEREAS, the Superintendent has requested a $6,000,000 advance state aid payment from the Commissioner of Education pursuant to
the provisions of N.J.S.A. 18A:7A-56a, and the Commissioner has
approved payment of said request; BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lakewood Board of Education accepts the advance state aid payment in the amount of $6,000,000 for the 2016-2017 school year pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 18A: 7A-56a. Additionally, pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 18A:
7A-56b, the board accepts the maximum 10 year repayment term,
subject to the undesignated general fund balance provision of
N.J.S.A. 18A:7A-56c.
G. Approval of payment of New Jersey State Health Benefit Plan premiums for May
2016 in the amount of: $1,205,281.17
