Recently there were stories pertaining to the Orthodox community in general in some cases Lakewood in particular that were posted on various websites and blogs. Its either a story of interest or a click bate headline to get hits and increase traffic to the website. We have plenty of haters out there both within and from outside who are looking for any way to paint us in a bad light. They lurk online and jump on the opportunity to cross post and share what they perceive to be a news worthy story that either raitzes uhn our neighbors or defames orthodox Jews. Dont be fooled if its on the internet it will be picked up and shared. A simple sign about a shabbos of chizuk gets the facebookers excited. A recent news item about a store changing return policy rules for certain zip codes went viral and the haters had a field day. A jersey radio station had a segment on it and it was disgusting to hear the vile anti Semitic drivel. Some things are beyond our control but why do we have to take everything and share it with the world to see? why help fuel the fire of hatred?
