The APP has stopped reporting anything about the Lakewood government or township committee for the last few months. Major recent news stories got zero coverage in the Asbury Park Press, nothing about the 2017 mayoral appointment, Vaad, nothing about the Take back Lakewood movement, or the planning or zoning boards, nothing about first amendment activist. Until now that paper did not miss an opportunity to report about the goings on in Lakewood. It actually may not be a bad thing it was last year that the paper wrote a hateful and shameful editorial about the Lakewood community "A.G. must take close look at Lakewood". The paper did not apologize for it.

The paper is still the official newspaper of the township to post public notices, but recently township notices were posted on another local media website. Perhaps a deal was struck, or when you hit them in the pocket suddenly journalistic integrity and the public's right to know does not matter.
