Schools sent home notes to parents of non mandated children informing them they must sign up now and pay the $150 per child fee to the LSTA if they want busing next year. The Lakewood Cheder so far has not enforced this and did not bill or charge any of its parents for the $150 fee. As things stand all public school students who are not mandated are receiving courtesy busing free of charge paid for by Lakewood township. Children in Private schools and yeshivos depends which school you go to if they are enforcing the fee. Not clear why the LSTA is using the schools as proxy and not reaching out directly to all private school parents.
