Its the first day of school for the girls in Lakewood. An article in The Voice Of Lakewood (below) LSTA officials conceded the bus stops will not be as convenient or close to home as in previous years. Parents and kids should be expected to walk 10 minutes to the closest stop or cross a dangerous street for their bus stop. No more waiting at home with your baby and looking out the window. The only way to have efficient busing is to eliminate the thousands of previous stops. The title of the article said "Bus stops are Farther but Parents are Happier" the first part is true the second is an opinion. So far for the boys some buses didn't show up others come an hour late, and some came a half hour early. On the bright side they claim 99.5 percent of Lakewood children have busing this year. There will be no change requests for bus stops for 4 weeks say LSTA officials.
