GDMS Holdings wanted to construct an 1,800-residence complex next to Eagle Ridge golf course, but area residents fought the proposal.
Instead, the state Department of Environmental Protection announced Wednesday that it issued a permit for the developer to build 1,034 units, five community center buildings, a clubhouse and a pair of retail buildings. The 517
residential units will consist of 43 single-family homes and 237 duplex units. Each will have a basement apartment for a total of 1,034 dwellings.
One retail building would be 23,387 square feet, the other 44,677 square feet
