The NJ media compiled a list of 36 towns who voted for Donald Trump in the presidential election last year but voted for Murphy in this years election for Governor. Lakewood has the largest disparity of a populous city. Trump won in Lakewood by over 50 points while Murphy beat Guadango by a mere 114 votes. Does it mean that support for Trump is down? absolutely not just look at the numbers, In 2016 Trump got Trump got 18,139 votes in Lakewood to Hillary's 5,927. In 2017 Murphy beat Guadango by only 114 votes out of a total of 11,496 votes cast. Murphy got 5,704 Guadagno got 5,616.
