4 influential members of the Lakewood planning board reached out to The Voice Of Lakewood weekly. The masterplan which they passed was almost completely disregarded by the township committee in the ordinances voted on November 8th. The only thing they passed was the increased density and NOT most of the infrastructure improvements that the board made the density contingent upon. They noted as a whole:
"we would have never increased density if the streets weren't working. We would have never voted for the masterplan without all the changes in place as members of a board which spent two years listening to its citizens we tried to implement public opinion into the plan and that's not reflected in the drafted township ordnance."![]()
