Not to spoil the Purim fun while the community was celebrating Purim, The Asbury Park Press published an editorial dated March 24 calling on the AG office to investigate Lakewood. Among the many issues and so called criminal activity to be investigated is how the orthodox community finances its homes. The paper quotes "the towns’ adherence to health and safety regulations in its schools and synagogues, its use of tax exemptions and the means by which the Orthodox community is financing the dozens of homes it is purchasing in and around Lakewood.". The editorial tried keeping clear of an anti Semitic tone by saying this "The concern is not about the Jewish religion or its adherents. It is about the seeming lack of concern that some of the Orthodox Jews in Lakewood have for the rules and regulations that govern others." Yet the target here is the Orthodox community and its troubling for the APP to ignore the facts and report baseless accusations to besmirch an entire community.
