Pole fire Causes Power Outage in Jackson and Lakewood

 A utility pole fire on East Veterans Highway was the cause of a  power outage to hundreds of customers in Jackson and Lakewood on Sunday night at 9:30 pm. Power has been restored to some areas those still affected can expect a restoration by 12:30 am according to JCP&L. Current outages are in the James street and Cross street Farady area of Lakewood and Brewers Bridge rd in Jackson.

Traffic nightmare Route 88 backed up from, Madison avenue to New Hampshire!

Numerous accidents and road closures due to flooding.The NWS has issues a Flash Flood warning for the Lakewood area until 12:30 pm.
- A state of emergency has been declared in Brick Township, NJ to deal with severe flooding caused by the morning's storms.-LPD: Police Chief Greg Meyer: “Stay home if possible - roads are flooded. Don’t drive into deep standing water

New Sheitel guidelines for the Lakewood media and publications. At the request of Poskim the Voice of Lakewood, BP weekly and Lakewood shopper have agreed not to print ads that contain pictures of wigs including just locks of hair.
 An email sent from TVOL to its advertisers:
In compliance with the request of many leading Lakewood poskim; The Voice, BP Weekly and Lakewood Shopper have agreed not to accept for publication any advertisements which contain photos of wigs (including just locks of hair). This agreement goes into effect starting August 23. We hope this does not cause to much hardship for you.

Lakewood Got Top Rainfall in NJ

 During the drenching thunderstorms that rolled across the state on Monday, Aug. 13, Lakewood received the most rainfall 

- Lakewood got the most rain in all of  NJ yesterday at  8 .01 inches.
- Lakewood Chaveirim Volunteer members responded to over 300 calls
- Governor Phil Murphy  declared a state of emergency in Bergen, Essex, Monmouth, Ocean and   Passaic counties
- Brick township over 100 homes evacuated due to Flooding.
- Howell: The bridge on Lakewood-Allenwood Road in between Cascades Blvd and Vienna Road has been compromised from the rain. The roadway will be closed indefinitely. Detours will be in place.

 In less than 48 hours there is an ordnance up for second reading a property is being transferred to a corporation owned by a business associate and partner of  A Lakewood Committeeman. Swapping a lower valued property for a higher valued one that can be flipped for a profit, according to reports in two websites. 

 Lakewood Township Committee giving away very valuable commercially-zoned land  for bupkes at below market Value  swapping it  at its assessed value which is much lower  than if it would be at its appraised value or sold on the open market. By exchanging public land for private land based on the properties’ assessed values,  they can flip their new acquisition for a profit at the appraised value.

First United States Chaplains Task Force class graduates in Toms River, New Jersey. United States Chaplain Task Force formerly NYS Chaplain Task Force debuted its first class in Toms River NJ. . The class graduated Thursday, August 2’nd in the Ocean County college auditorium. This was a full class of Orthodox Jewish chaplains that are ready to serve the larger community of Southern NJ for the years to come. . The New York State Chaplain Task Force recently changed its name to the United States Chaplain Task Force as it began broadening its services beyond NYS. . The Chaplain Task Force has a membership of over 2,500 chaplains of 14 different faiths that serve hospitals, police departments, prisons and wherever there is a need in the community for a professionally trained chaplain. . Honored at the graduation were Toms River Police Lieutenant Mike Miller, Toms River Councilwoman Laurie Hurik and Toms River Police Chaplain Rabbi Ab
e Fried. . Reverend Marcus Miranda, Founder and Commander in Chief of the United States Chaplain Task Force joined us and taught the class. The class was honored to have Cantor Shua Kessin sing the National Anthem at the graduation. 60 Girls Still Not In High school for this coming year

Girls High Schools in Lakewood  are starting in less than 2 weeks but for 60 girls and their parents once again they sit home awaiting their fate as askanim school administrators and roshei mosdos get together to take in the final "leftover"  batch. Those who have been following the tremendous growth of the Lakewood community are aware of how difficult the school acceptance process is, Particularly for girls’ high schools, where there is not enough space. This year there is a new high school opening for the coming year Aderes Bais Yaakov, headed by Rav Bulman under the leadership of the Roshei yeshiva. Rebbetzin Drillman will be the menaheles. Supposedly, another school may open as well. Hopefully this will all be settled shortly so the bnos yisrael can walk around proudly and not hide their face in shame when their friends ask them about which school they will be going to..
