2 Zip Codes of Most Amazon sellers in the USA are Borough Park, Brooklyn and Lakewood, NJ

The zip codes with the 2 most Amazon sellers in the USA are Borough Park, Brooklyn  and Lakewood, NJ. 11219 zip code in Borough Park, Brooklyn, New York is the single most populous zip code. 08701 zip code in Lakewood, New Jersey is next

Article from Marketplace pulse - 47% of the top Amazon.com sellers are based in the US, and 38% are based in China, according to Marketplace Pulse analysis of the top sellers whose business addresses can be reliably determined. Brooklyn, New York hosts the zip code with the most Amazon US-based sellers, and Shenzhen is home to a third of Chinese sellers on Amazon.

Top 10,000 sellers on Amazon.com were considered because, as a group, they represent the majority of the marketplace GMV. Each seller in the group has yearly sales exceeding $1 million. The Amazon.com marketplace has over a million active sellers; however, many of them only sell a few products a month. Among US-based sellers, most are based in California, representing 22% of US sellers. Other common locations include New York, Florida, and Texas. These four biggest states make up 50% of US sellers.

11219 zip code in Borough Park, Brooklyn, New York is the single most populous zip code. 08701 zip code in Lakewood, New Jersey, and 91789 zip code in Walnut, Los Angeles County, California, come next. Borough Park is home to one of the largest Orthodox Jewish communities outside Israel; the prospect of building a business on Amazon has led to a boom across the Orthodox Jewish community in New Jersey and New York.

“There is a certain transformation that is going on right here,” said Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, who runs a nonprofit called Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs. “This is like the Gold Rush in the 1840s. Whenever there is an economic shift, it opens up opportunity.” Leticia Miranda of BuzzFeed News has recently covered the community of Orthodox Jews selling on Amazon.

For Chinese retailers and manufacturers, Amazon is the most efficient direct-to-consumer platform to reach the US and European shoppers. The share of China-based sellers has increased from 24% in 2016 to 38% in October 2019. However, during the last twelve months, it has slowed down in growth and is not expected to surpass 50% soon. A similar increase of China-based sellers has been observed on Amazon’s European marketplaces as well.

Guangdong province is home to 40.3% of Chinese sellers. Shenzhen hosts a third of third-party Chinese sellers on Amazon and is estimated to be the city with the largest number of Amazon sellers anywhere in the world. It is a major city in Guangdong province, one of the leading commercial and manufacturing regions in China.

Growth of Chinese sellers has coincided with the use of Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service, which has allowed their products to have the same two-day Prime shipping as domestic sellers - Chinese sellers are thus more likely to use FBA than the US sellers. Almost all top Chinese sellers use FBA, while only 75% of top US-based sellers do. Therefore most Amazon shoppers are oblivious to the business location of the seller.

The stories of Borough Park, Brooklyn, and Shenzhen, Guangdong, are different, but the two locations, 8,053 miles apart, are each growing on Amazon thanks to their self-organizing communities.

Israel Likely Heading to 3rd Round of Elections

$

Hamodia- New elections are almost certain, as Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman announced Wednesday that his party would not join a right-wing coalition led by the Likud, and neither would it support a minority government supported from outside a coalition that Blue and White would organize. The mandate for Blue an White head Benny Gantz to form a government is at midnight Wednesday.

Consistent with his position all along, Liberman at a press conference Wednesday insisted on a unity government, consisting of his party, the Likud, and Blue and White. “Any other kind of government will have difficulty functioning,” he said. “It will turn into a contest for survival on a weekly basis. I did everything I could, I left no stone unturned” in trying to convince Binyamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz to form such a government, he said. “They even offered me the position of Prime Minister in the final year of the government, but I am standing on my principles. I will not sell them for a government position.”

Spicing his comments liberally with anti-chareidi comments, Liberman had said that he would join a government led by either man, as long as they compromised sufficiently to allow for formation of a unity government. In the end, neither Netanyahu nor Gantz proved flexible enough for the task. “If we do end up in new elections it will be because of a lack of leadership. One of them [Gantz] refused to accept the framework offered by President Reuven Rivlin, and the other [Netanyahu] refused to give up his messianic-chareidi coalition.

“There is no alternative to a unity government,” Liberman said. “Netanyahu is enslaving the Likud to the chareidim. Torah learning is a wonderful thing, but it should be done at the expense of chareidim. We don’t need more than 1,500 avreichim.” In any event, both parties are to blame – Blue and White and the Likud together. On the other side of the equation, Liberman said that “it should have been clear to all that we would not enter a coalition with the United Arab List.”

Regarding how to avoid a third round of stalemate if new elections are held, Liberman said that “all the Zionist parties need to come to a single platform. In addition, I am a believer in direct election of the Prime Minister, but unfortunately we cannot change the rules in the middle of the game.”

The mandate for Blue an White head Benny Gantz to form a government is at midnight Wednesday. A last-ditch meeting between Netanyahu and Gantz Tuesday night failed to bridge the gaps between the two – and hours before Gantz’s mandate to form a government expires, senior members of Gantz’s Blue and White party told Kan News that “it appears we are going to elections.” The party is not counting on Avigdor Liberman to step in and support a minority government together with the United Arab List – if anything he is more likely to form a government with the Likud. “Liberman and Netanyahu could have closed a deal days ago,” the sources said.

CBS News report on Frum Man stabbed in Monsey   מרדכי בן ברכה לרפואה שלימה a magid shiur at Satmar yeshiva his condition is critical please daven.

MONSEY, N.Y. (CBS NewYork) — An Orthodox Jewish man was punched, slashed and stabbed on his way to a synagogue on Wednesday morning in Rockland County.
He survived, but was hospitalized and underwent surgery for serious injuries, police said.

The incident happened at around 5:40 a.m. near the shul at 2 Howard Drive. Police said at least one person jumped out of a car, punched the man repeatedly and then stabbed him more than once, CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported.

The 30-year-old victim, who is married with four kids, did not know his attacker, police said.

Ramapo Police Chief Brad Weidel said the young man who found the victim reported it as a man struck by a vehicle. First responders realized he’d actually been savagely attacked.

“The viciousness of this assault, it was an attempted murder is the way I see it,” Weidel said.

“It seems to be an unprovoked incident. We’re still in the initial stages of the investigation, but what we do know is there were no words exchanged,” community liaison Rabbi Yisroel Kahan added. “[The assailant] jumped out of a car, pummeled him to the ground for a lengthy period, a minute or two, probably. At some point he was stabbed and rushed to Westchester [County Medical Center] with Hatzolah paramedics.”

Matzav - It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Chaim Zev Malinowitz zt”l of Bet Shemesh. He was 67 years old. Rav Malinowitz was a brilliant talmid chochom and posek, whose wealth of knowledge and wide-ranging yedios haTorah were awe-inspiring. He was a devoted rov and a Torah guide to so many.  Rav Malinowitz received semicha from the posek hador, Rav Moshe Feinstein zt”l. He served as a dayan and rosh kollel in Monsey, NY for years before moving to Eretz Yisroel in 1997.
In 2002, Rav Malinowitz was appointed as rov of Beis Tefillah Yonah Avraham, a shul founded two years prior to meet the needs of new olim looking for a community with which to provide support and a sense of belonging. Rav Malinowitz proved to be the perfect mara d’asra, combing Torah scholarship with compassion, daas Torah, and hadracha for his mispallelim.

Rav Malinowitz famously served as General Editor of the Artscroll Schottenstein Edition of the Talmud. His gaonus and depth of understanding of all of Shas are reflected in his work on behalf of the unparalleled Schottenstein Gemara, which  is utilized by Hundreds of thousands across the globe.

Rav Malinowitz was suddenly and unexpectedly niftar this afternoon, plunging his many admirers into mourning.

Levaya details will be posted as soon as Matzav.com receives them. The kevura will take place in Rechovot.

American Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah Issues Kol Korei Regarding kedushas Shabbos

$

This shabbos several municipalities in the Gush Dan region of Eretz YIsrael have officialy decided to run the public transportation systems on shabbos, which imcludes Tel Aviv, Givatayim, Ramat Hasharon and Kiryat Ono. In Response the MoOetzes of Agudas YIsrael is calling on everyone to increase kedushas shabbos.

At this time, when our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel need rachamei Shomayim to protect them from malicious enemies, rachmana litzlan, it is shocking to hear that there are some within Klal Yisroel who seek to profane the precious gift of Shabbos. Every Jewish heart should feel anguish over what is happening in the palace of the King. Our tefillos are always that those wayward sons who stray from Torah return to their Father and to mesoras Yisroel. But the mandate of the hour is for all Jews faithful to Torah and mitzvos to strengthen ourselves regarding kedushas Shabbos, to have it elevate our lives and beautify the path of Hashem we tread.

Toward that end, let us increase our resolve to observe Shabbos as it should be observed, with dignity and true Shabbos enjoyment – words of Torah, tefillah and zemiros. And to try with all our might to make Shabbos a day of tranquility and holiness, meriting reward in this world, beyond the merit reserved for us in the next one, as the Rambam explains at the end of Hilchos Shabbos.

And so we suggest here some ways to better internalize kedushas Shabbos. Every person should judge what is best for himself.

1) To light Shabbos candles a few minutes earlier than required (even during these short days, if possible), so that the lights will be burning in our homes approximately a half-hour before sunset.

2) To study and review practical halachos pertinent to Shabbos during Shabbos meals.

3) To sing zemiros along with our b’nei mishpachah with feeling, thereby awakening Shabbos’ tranquility and joy.

4) To awaken ourselves to the words of Chazal that our speech on Shabbos be different from our speech during the week, in particular at our seudos, to add to them a greater spiritual dimension.

May Hashem, as a result of all these things, bequeath us the day that will be “entirely and eternally Shabbos and menuchah.”

Netanyahu Urged To Stand His Ground

$

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was urged to stand his ground Thursday against an “outrageous” slew of corruption allegations, with political commentator Mark Levin backing him to fight what he called a “corrupt investigation.”Levin took to Twitter to urge Israel’s leader not to back down:
The harsh and severe indictment filed against Netanyahu came while he is still serving as prime minister. This is an unhealthy situation, one that is bad for the government.

Levin’s intervention came just hours after Israel’s attorney-general formally charged Netanyahu in a series of corruption cases, as Breitbart News reported.

Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit charged Netanyahu with fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes in three different scandals. It is the first time a sitting Israeli prime minister has been charged with a crime.
A characteristically combative Netanyahu responded by calling the allegations a witch hunt, pointing to the media, police, prosecutors and the justice system as being party to the attack.

In a televised speech shortly after the attorney-general’s remarks, Netanyahu — who became Israel’s longest-serving PM in July — claimed the investigation against him was tainted by bias as he strenuously maintained his innocence.

“I will continue to lead the country, according to the letter of the law, with responsibility, devotion and concern for all of our futures,” he said.

Under Israeli law, a sitting prime minister does not have to resign if accused of criminal charges — although critics and rivals demanded he step aside.

Netanyahu in July surpassed the longevity in office of the country’s founding father, David Ben Gurion, who served 4,875 days.

US Coin Sells out within Minutes,

Mint issued coins for sale in Baltimore after cancelling orders. Those who got them are offered over $1000 by collectors to purchase from them.
Coinworld - Anger over the fast sellout of the Enhanced Reverse Proof 2019-S American Eagle silver dollar, which went on sale at noon ET Nov. 14 and was apparently sold out in about 18 minutes.

The coin was limited to a maximum mintage of 30,000 pieces — a tiny mintage by American Eagle silver dollar standards — and a household limit of one.

Everyone anticipated strong demand for the coin and that became clear almost instantly when interaction at the Mint online shop slowed to a crawl (a lot customers were directed to an Oops! page and a request to refresh). Several Coin World staff members tested the system to see what happened and got the same message. By the time I got to the order page, at about 18 minutes after the hour, the coin was “Currently unavailable” — Mint speak for “we’ve received enough orders to deplete the entire mintage” (full disclosure: I did not plan to buy the coin myself).

Within a few minutes of the apparent sellout, I wrote a post for our Facebook page asking for your experiences, and you delivered. Most of those posting were unable to buy one of the coins; a few were successful. Most experienced difficulties getting to the order page or putting one in their shopping cart or successfully checking out. Read more here
