Statement from Agudas Yisrael on Kavod of Gefolei Yisroel
Every Jew who values Torah and Torah-leaders is appalled and anguished at the spectacle of boorish derision of einei ha’eidah in the public sphere.
Torah leaders regularly discuss important issues among themselves, and, no less than Gedolei Yisroel from the times of the Tannaim until the present, propose, discuss and deliberate their sometimes different views on many matters of concern. Even when they disagree, they do so in a spirit of mutual respect and love – es vahev b’sufah. [See Kiddushin 30b]
Presenting – or misrepresenting – the respective views of different Rabbonim or Roshei Yeshiva on important topics, in order to attract attention, gain views or stir uncomprehending people to further disrespect the luminaries of our generation, violates not only our obligation to be mechabed our Gedolim, but their privacy and trust as well. To add unsavory spice to such presentations with words of loshon hora and rechilus about Gedolei Yisroel is nothing short of reprehensible.
Gedolei Yisroel are to be revered, not reviled. And not debated about like sports teams.
The contemporary cultural, media and political spheres have become more degraded than ever, and are rife with falsehood, invective, insult and irresponsibility. What passes in the world today for “reportage” and “discourse” is diametric to ideals the Torah prescribes, ideals we Jews have upheld since Sinai. The abandonment of those ideals within our own circles in favor of the corrupted attitudes and methods that surround us should pain us all deeply.
May we soon see the day when all Yidden stand up proudly for all the principles of our Torah, including the honor and respect we owe to our Gedolim.

Lakewood Siyum on Daf Yomi Maseches Brachos
In light of the success of the seudas siyum in Lakewood, as well as in celebration of the tremendous expansion of limud Daf Yomi in Lakewood and beyond, local askanim made the decision to organize another gala seudah for the completion of the first Daf Yomi masechta. The completion of Brachos also marks the beginning of Seder Moed, which will be celebrated at the seudah, as mesaymim will be inspired and encouraged to carry on through Shabbos, Eruvin and beyond.
The evening’s program will include a deluxe melava malka seudah with exquisite catering, as well as a moving roster of speakers and, of course, joyous music, singing and dancing.
All lomdei Daf Yomi are invited and urged to take part in the seudas siyum to share in the joy and gain inspiration to keep up their commitment to the daily Daf. Attendance is by free reservation only. Lomdei haDaf can reserve their seat by calling 732.366.3639 or emailing lakewoodsiyum@gmail.com.

The Smith Bros Cough Drop Lookalike Comes Back to Haunt us All - The Debacle
Re: World Zionist election
By Fangun Fun Onfang
Volcanoes lie dormant for years but Har Herzl has erupted; Jews world over are absorbing the aftershocks.
Journalistic Coronavirus started out in Mishpacha than made its way to the fights of the roundtable weekly.
Study the fine print, the last line of your voting form (below) - I declare I accept the Jerusalem program. Do you know what you're affixing your signature to?!
See program (below) Line 5 - Zionism is the national liberation movement of the Jewish people.
Well they sure liberated Jews from Kabolas ol Malchus shomayim. Torah and Mitzvos are irrelevant ר''ל.
By their narrative, they yearn to liberate themselves of Yeshivaleit and Talmidei Chachomim - witness their founders manifesto "we'll confine the Rabbis to the barracks."
Point C shaping Israel as an exemplary society with a unique moral and spiritual character, marked by mutual respect for the multi- faceted Jewish people.
Of whom do they speak? This really means LGBT, reform , re-constructionist and the rest of the עשרה יוחסין.
Do you think that voting in great numbers and earning a slate for Charrdi Jewry will achieve monetary gain for yeshivos and also effect shmiras shabbos and Giyur Kahalcha? Not a snowballs chance in Gan Eden.
The style and substance of their Gospel, "strengthening Israel as a Jewish Zionist and democratic state, underscores their theme.
The Zionist charter thrives on throwing our mesorah under the bus.
Obviously they must have a mechanism in place, a firewall that minimizes any opposite to swing back the pendulum back to the Rinono Shel Olam.
Oiraysah and Yiras hashem are not found on Herzl's Viennese table. Voting for a slate is a genuine waste of energy and resources.
The WZO is whatever klal yisrael is not.

JC Kosher Reopens at New Location in Jersey City
JERSEY CITY, N.J. —
Two months after his wife was murdered in the attack on this city’s only kosher grocery store, owner Moshe Ferencz was back behind the counter this week.
The store, which has partially reopened in a new location, still doesn’t have regular hours. But the reopening signals an important moment for Jersey City’s small but growing community of Orthodox Jews. “Everyone was shocked beyond belief,” said Chesky Deutsch, a member of the local Hasidic community who acts as an informal spokesman, describing the atmosphere following the shooting. “For the first few weeks there was a little paralysis. They lost a friend, the kids were under trauma, the grocery was not open. But now life goes on.” Now the market is beginning to reopen two blocks from its original location on the same side of the same street, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. It’s not fully stocked and caters only to kosher-keeping customers based on necessity. Deutsch said it will be open fully in the coming weeks.
JC Kosher, which caters to the 100 or so Hasidic families who have moved to the Greenville neighborhood here in recent years, was the site of a shooting on Dec. 10. The two assailants killed a police officer nearby before riding in a van to the store, where they killed Leah Mindel Ferencz, who ran the store with her husband. They also shot dead Douglas Miguel Rodriguez, an employee, and Moshe Deutsch, a customer. JTA
