 -Letter posted in shuls from Rabbonim of the Sefardi Kehillos in the greater Lakewood area, to bring to the attention of the Sefardi community an important matter concerning kashrus standards and halachic practices as they relate to Bishul Yisroel.k9 mo k
Aside no u is well known, Sefardim who I l 88 follow the psak of Maran HaRav Yosef Karo theNeis Yosef, require that a Jew actively participate in the cooking process by placing the food on the fire or heating source. This differs from the halachic ruling of the Rema, followed by many Ashkenazim, who permit Bishul Yisroel by simply igniting the flame. Many food establishments in Lakewood operate according to the Ashkenazi standard. Therefore, foods from such establishments may not meet the Bishul Yisroel requirements according to the Sefardi psak, especially when it comes to reheating or preheating food that would otherwise be subject to the prohibition of bishul akum. Prominent Sefardi poskim, including Maran HaRav Ovadia Yosef zt”l, have clearly ruled that relying on Ashkenazi leniencies in this matter is not acceptable for those who follow the halacha according to the Beis Yosef. They  urge members of our kehillos to be vigilant in maintaining proper kashrus standards and to ensure that food—especially in public simchos, catering, or restaurants—is prepared in accordance with Sefardi halachic requirements.

- Giyus: Some Chareidi parties in the Knesset are once again threatening to halt their support for coalition-sponsored legislation unless progress is made on a bill that would officially exempt yeshiva students from military service. Netanyahu held a conversation with Yuli Edelstein to brief him on recent security developments. The two also discussed the draft legislation regarding the chareidi exemption during that call. Edelstein said that he intends to revisit the framework with chareidi leaders in an attempt to make “improvements” to the current compromise.

Rabbi A.D. Motzen, of Agudah, said that though disappointed, “we are not giving up.”
Nathan Diament, executive director of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center, stated that the cut was a “very disappointing setback for millions of American families seeking educational opportunity and affordability.”
Rabbi A.D. Motzen, national director of government affairs at Agudath Israel of America, told JNS that the Jewish advocacy group will consider alternative ways to push the legislation forward. “While we are disappointed that the Senate parliamentarian attempted to remove the scholarship tax credit from the reconciliation bill, we are not giving up,” he told JNS.  “Agudath Israel is working with its coalition partners and Senate allies to overcome this challenge,” he said. “Congress still has an opportunity to enact a tax credit proposal that will help millions of children.”

Audio of Rav Shneur Kotler  zatzal  in 1978 courtesy of Adirei HaTorah commemorating his 43rd yartzeit today  the 3rd of Tammuz,

 At a parlor meeting in Los Angeles around 1978, the host recalled how many had once insisted that “building Torah in America could not be done… The idea of talmidei chachamim sitting and learning day and night was thought to be impossible.”

But the Rosh HaYeshiva, following the legacy of his illustrious father Rav Aharon zt”l, refused to relegate the great yeshivos of Europe to the past. They did not speak of “Slabodka that was, Novardok that was, Mir that was…” Instead, they believed — and lived — the truth that there is and there will be. To them, the legacy of the yeshiva world was not history; it was destiny. It was alive, and it had a future — right here in America.

This unwavering vision is just one part of the remarkable legacy of the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l.

- School choice survives and remains in senate bill
OU Advocacy thanks senator Ted Cruz for fighting for school choice to help all American families.

Agudah email: Earlier today, the United States Senate voted to include a permanent and unlimited scholarship tax credit in the budget reconciliation bill.
The groundbreaking school choice proposal survived two attempts to eliminate it and was forced to be revised, but the bottom line for you, it’s still in!
If passed, we expect this credit to generate hundreds of millions of dollars in K-12 scholarships for our communities alone! The revised version allows every taxpayer to receive a credit of up to $1700 and removed the annual cap on donations among other changes. This means that if every person and every community comes together to contribute towards the chinuch of the next generation, we can raise hundreds of millions of dollars in tuition scholarship funds each year at no cost to the donors. The bill now moves back to the House for a vote before it can be sent to the President for his signature. The tax credit would take effect January 2027.

The budget is $727 million  than the proposed plan Murphy introduced in February, and spends $1.5 billion more in taxpayer money than it collects in revenue.

The higher fees are projected to net the state $282 million.
Assemblyman Paul Kanitra, R-Ocean, urged his colleagues to vote no because of the realty fees. With “15% to 20% of homes in New Jersey are valued at $1 million or more...All you are really doing is hurting 1 in 5 New Jerseyans right now and grabbing more money out of the pockets.
Assemblyman Schnall voted yes.

- Trump: Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!

- Giyus: Starting this August, 78,000 Charedi yeshiva students will be under conscription orders - a huge number that covers almost the entire population of yeshiva students of conscription age.  The IDF began sending another 54,000 orders to the Haredim today. These orders will be added to the 24,000 orders that have already been sent, and thus the "pool" of Charedim who did not receive draft orders will be emptied.

 Orthodox Union Advocacy Center Hails Senate Passage of Landmark School Choice Bill

Posted on July 1, 2025 In Press Releases
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Orthodox Union Advocacy Center (OUA) celebrated the Senate’s historic vote today to include the revised Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) in the “one big beautiful bill,” marking the most significant federal action ever taken to make private education more affordable for American families.

The newly revised legislation creates the largest and most promising federal school choice program ever enacted by Congress. Key provisions include:

- A 100% federal tax credit for donations to scholarship granting organizations (SGOs), up to $1,700 per donor;
- No national cap on the total credits that may be claimed each year;
- A permanent program with no sunset date;
- An annual opt-in process requiring each state’s governor (or designated official) to submit eligible SGOs to the federal government;

“This is a groundbreaking moment for school choice and for Jewish families who strive to provide their children with a strong, values-based education,” said Nathan Diament, Executive Director of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center. “We’re profoundly grateful to Senators Bill Cassidy, Tim Scott, Ted Cruz, and Majority Leader John Thune for fighting to secure this measure and push it over the finish line in the Senate.”

OUA emphasized that while the Senate’s action is historic, the work is not done: the bill must still pass the House, and then the Trump administration must implement supportive regulations. OU Advocacy will also mobilize to ensure that governors opt into the program, as required by the new version of the bill, so that every family can benefit.

“This victory shows what’s possible when we keep pushing, but it’s only the beginning,” Diament added. “We won’t rest until every Jewish child can access an affordable Jewish education.”

Mimkomcha by Eitan Katz
There are moments in davening that call for deeper connection, when the words themselves reach upward, yearning for closeness with Hashem. "Mimkomcha" is one of those moments. This nigun was composed with that feeling in mind. Soulful and stirring, it’s intended to be sung in shul during the most elevated times, the moments of longing, of kavana, of dveikus. Let it become part of your tefillah, and may it help bring the words to life.

The report states that Hams insists on its position that a deal must include an end to the war in Gaza

 The elections for WZO in England will take place starting July 6. Eretz Hakodesh slate was initially disqualified after allegations of election fraud but the ruling was overturned allowing them to run as a slate in the UK elections for WZO

Public Announcement of the Rabbonim of London Regarding the WZO Elections

Text of letter:

"Withdraw Yourself From Their Path"

In the upcoming days there is expected to take place the elections in England for the World Zionist Organization (the WZO). It is well-known that all the Gedolim and Tzaddikim throughout the generations battled against the Zionist movement, which has the goal of transforming Klal Yisroel into a nation like any other nation, and this organization called the WZO was founded and is run by heretics with the purpose of actualizing this evil goal, and under it stands all the infamous institutions such as the KKL, Keren Hayesod, the Jewish Agency, the UJA – which have brought millions of Jews over the years away from Yiddishkeit. As is well-known, the main purpose of the establishment of Agudas Yisroel was to battle against the Zionist movement.
But after the faithful Jews around the world were protected and distanced from these heretical organizations, sadly in the last five years irresponsible individuals have arisen, with a chareidi appearance, and established a party with the name "Eretz Hakodesh", for the sake of gaining from the funds of the WZO, and under the guise of saving from the Reform; they send representatives to be partners in the WZO, who act in full co-operation with them in all their activities, all of which are uprooting of Torah and Emunah, in all the countries of the world.
All the Gedolei HaTorah of Eretz Yisroel and America have already publicised warnings over the absolute prohibition to associate with them or vote for them.

In these days the WZO is holding elections in the countries of Europe, and the party "Eretz Hakodesh" is attempting to garner more votes by persuading Chareidi Yidden, under the guise of saving Yiddishkeit and obtaining funding for Torah institutions, to register as a member of the WZO and vote. Sadly, it appears that religious Yidden have been misled into registering in the WZO and have unknowingly stumbled into signing on
their terribly heretical declaration, the Jerusalem Program.
Therefore, we announce and repeat the opinion of the Gedoim of the generations before us, that there is an absolute prohibition to be a member in the WZO or to vote in their elections, for doing so is a declaration of acceptance of heresy, and is a terrible Chillul HaShem. Even one who already registered as a member, may not vote in the upcoming elections, and by not voting will bring a Kiddush HaShem. May we merit soon that the world will be filled with knowledge of HaShem, when Moshiach comes.
On this we affix our signatures, Sivan 5785

-Local Politicians ares silent as Residents in flooded Lakewood streets say the flooding has been going on for years, clogged storm drains from garbage in the streets has backed up the storm water from flowing through the sewer pipes

CBS News reports on Lakewood flooding yesterday:
Lakewood, N.J., hit with severe flooding as storms move through region
Rounds of storms Tuesday evening caused a mess in parts of the Tri-State Area, including Lakewood, New Jersey. The Lakewood Police Department told CBS News New York lightning struck a power line, leaving some residents in the dark. Crews worked in the rain to repair it.Many residents were most frustrated by severe flooding, which they say has been a problem for years. "I didn't know if my car would make it through" Resident Nechama Blech said she had to drive through at least 1 foot of water in some areas to get home. "Some parts I was driving through, I didn't know if my car would make it through," she said. In a neighborhood off Arboretum Parkway, crews cleared drains to try to bring relief to residents.
Resident Moshe Drew said the water came dangerously close to his home.
"It was creeping up around the side. My neighbor's house was up to the front door," he said. Sandbags lined his basement window. He says three years ago, torrential rain flooded his home. Neighbors say the area is prone to flooding and were relieved as rain moved out Tuesday night.

- Sherrill leads Ciattarelli by 20 points in Rutgers-Eagleton poll Trump is a factor in New Jersey governor’s race. Democrat Mikie Sherrill has a twenty-point lead over Republican Jack Ciattarelli in the New Jersey governor’s race, with President Donald Trump figuring prominently in voters’ decisions, according to a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll released this morning.
Sherrill leads Ciattarelli, 51%-31%, with 13% undecided. iCattarelli’s top strategist, Chris Russell, panned the poll as erroneous.(NJ Globe)

- Trump: As President of the United States, I’m not going to let this Communist Lunatic destroy New York. Rest assured, I hold all the levers, and have all the cards. I’ll save New York City, and make it “Hot” and “Great” again, just like I did with the Good Ol’ USA!

- On The date of 6 Tamuz it is brought down by some chasidishe seforim to avoid swimming or going to a oceans and Rivers. There's no known mekor for this, some say it was perhaps a mix up from the date of Vov Chukas historically a day  that had tragedies and was declared as a fast day.

- ICE Newark makes attest in Lakewood arresting Jose Heladio Bonilla-Sanchez, a Mexican native & an active Cartel del Noreste gang member, June 30 in Lakewood, New Jersey, was deported three times before, is in ICE custody, pending removal & federal prosecution for illegal reentry.

- Conservative commentary and reports on the School choice tax credit bill:
The plan grants donors to scholarship organizations a tax credit for the same amount they contribute. Those nonprofits then award funds to families for private school tuition and other educational expenses

Republicans dropped the total amount a donor can contribute from 10% of their annual income to $1,700.“To raise $1.7 million for scholarships, [organizations]need to identify 1,000 donors, which is a lot harder to do, “That wasn’t done to help students or families.”

 The bill sets eligibility at 300% of median income, meaning that in higher-income areas, families earning nearly half a million dollars could use the scholarships.

The Senate gives states a say over which groups can participate and strikes language that would have prohibited any control over private schools

As it currently stands, states may opt in, meaning many Democratic-majority states probably won’t participate.

Under the federal program,If there isn’t a Jewish or neutral SGO in a state, for instance, then a Jewish student looking for a scholarship to go to a Jewish school may be out of luck.

Scholarship granting organizations (SGOs), which will collect donations and turn them into scholarships, are the lynchpin of the program. They will be given an extraordinary amount of freedom in how they operate. A Catholic, Evangelical Christian, Jewish or Muslim based organization can give awards only to Catholics, Evangelical Christians, Jews or Muslims, respectively. Here and Here

- The highly paid Lakewood BOE attorney who has earned more than $6 million since 2017 is technically not on the job, at least for now. His most recent contract ended on Monday, June 30. Although the school board approved a new agreement months ago to begin July 1, it was blocked by state monitor Louise Davis in March. he meantime, the school board also requested a stay in the matter so that Inzelbuch could remain on the job until a final decision of the appeal is made, according to Board Member Moshe Raitzik. A state report criticized his contract, which has paid him more than $6 million since 2017 and requires little accountability. APP reports

Trump: It is my Great Honor to announce that I have just made a Trade Deal with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam after speaking with To Lam, the Highly Respected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. It will be a Great Deal of Cooperation between our two Countries. The Terms are that Vietnam will pay the United States a 20% Tariff on any and all goods sent into our Territory, and a 40% Tariff on any Transshipping. In return, Vietnam will do something that they have never done before, give the United States of America TOTAL ACCESS to their Markets for Trade. - New York Times:  The proposed hostage deal includes the release of 10 live hostages and the return of 18 bodies in five stages during a 60-day ceasefire, in exchange for the release of terrorists. Hamas would be required not to hold filmed “release ceremonies” for the hostages as it has done in the past.

-The IDF has detained 400 terrorists from six separate terror cells in the past month during military operations in the West Bank.

- The families of Gaza hostages Bar Abraham Kupershtein and Maxim Herkin on Thursday released a short clip from the first sign of life they received in a Hamas propaganda video three months ago."We are dying here with a pulse, we don't feel human,"  "We are again 30 meters underground." They said.
About a month later, an additional sign of life was published by Hamas, showing Herkin alone. The families initially refused to allow the publication of the videos. Still, they were released by the forum on Thursday, “To sound the cry of the hostage families in the face of the possibility of a partial deal involving cruel selections, separating one blood from another. All 50 hostages and the hostage are humanitarian cases—some of them in life-threatening situations, and others at risk of being lost forever."

- For the first time since October 7, Netanyahu visited Kibbutz Nir Oz, a quarter of whose residents were murdered or kidnapped during the massacre.

- PM Netanyahu: “I visited Mossad headquarters last night, along with Mossad Director Dedi Barnea and the organization's senior forum. I thanked them from the bottom of my heart for their tremendous contribution to Operation "Am Kalavi," and to the security of the State of Israel over the years. The Mossad is a supreme force of the State of Israel, operating quietly, but powerfully. In the latest operation, under the leadership of Dedi Barnea, the Mossad demonstrated an uncompromising commitment to eliminating the Iranian threat and precisely striking the leaders of knowledge.

- The Saudi Al-Hadath channel reports from its "unknown sources" that about ten thousand Hezbollah terrorists have been completely deactivated since October 7.
The sources stated that more than four thousand Hezbollah members were killed in the recent war, including military commanders and operatives, in addition to senior political figures. The sources added that the estimated number of Hezbollah operatives today is 60,000. According to them, 2,000 Hezbollah operatives left the organization following the elimination of Hezbollah leader Nasrallah.
