A month into the school year parents of private schools are upset and frustrated, they still do not have busing. Parents of children who have mandated busing want to know why preference was given to courtesy busing routes while they are still car pooling waiting for bids to be picked up. In addition some schools have resorted to private busing and parents are paying over $500 per child while those who got busing are only paying $125. Another sore point the Lakewood township paid all courtesy busing costs of non mandated public school students while the private school students are paying out of pocket. The LSTA hopes to bring more buses to fill the shortage but it may not happen until after sukkos or perhaps closer to Chanuka.
