Two months ago during summer vacation a veteran Lkwd mechanech was brutally punched beaten and knocked to the ground by someone who was upset about the education of a child. The incitement by the frum media and self appointed activists no doubt contributed to this assault. The rhetoric emanating across the board has created an atmosphere of blame and accusing Rebbeim and principals for all short comings and failings of anyone who went through the system. An unfortunate incident were someone R"L died of an Over dose was used as a spring board to openly bash and criticize our chinuch system. The so called rabble rousers were quick to the trigger each one using their platforms to blame and undermine years of Jewish education. They did it from their Bench at the court, through their radio show, voice notes on watsapp, social media posts, they wrote articles in all publications and the drumbeat was on.
Its easy to hide behind a suicide r'L and then go ahead and bash our dedicated rebbeim and principals. Many of theses self appointed activists have NEVER stepped foot in a classroom or have any involvement with chinuch, but that didnt matter they smelled blood and ran with it. Tisha B'av no longer was about the Churban Bais Hamikdash or Sinas Chinom it was used to further an agenda of blaming the system. There are many factors that contribute to a persons success or failings. They could be family issues, societal pressures, mental health issues, social issues and yes even school issues. But all was ignored and the "experts" knew exactly who and what to pin the blame on!
They also ignored the current opiod epidemic gripping the nation or even any mention to go after the drug pushers. Their agenda is transparent they decided what the symptom is and ran with it.
It is now Erev Yom Kippur that we must ask a collective mechila from all our selfless educators and Rebbeim who have been shunned and victimized by a few overzealous activists let them know we stand with them and wont get caught up in a campaign to undermine our mesorah.
