TBL: Article in The Voice of Lakewood
A Township Wide Transportation Improvement Study is being prepared for Lakewood Township by Maser Consulting. The study, which begins in February, is expected to take three months to complete.

Maser requests public input about suggested traffic improvements, and has taken steps to make it extremely simple to submit your idea directly to the company by providing a phone number you can text. Several other contact options are also available. "Input from the public is vital to the study's success" a Maser representative told the Voice. "We are looking for specific traffic congested areas and intersection locations that you feel need improvement within the Township of Lakewood".

Please text or leave a voicemail at (732)284-0929 with specific details including: the location(s), turning movements (i.s. eastbound left-turn), improvement ideas, and any other important factors. You can also send an email to Lakewood_Traffic@maserconsulting.com

Dans Deals- B&H Photo Video Opens New Fulfillment Center in Central New Jersey near Trenton to Meet Growing Demand. currently B&H only collects sales tax for orders delivered to NY. However they are opening a warehouse in NJ and will be collecting sales tax on orders delivered to NJ starting today.
New York, NY - January 12, 2017 - B&H Photo Video today announced it will move its fulfillment center operations currently located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard to a new, larger facility in Florence Township, NJ by
the end of the year. This move comes following an exhaustive, unsuccessful search to relocate to a larger facility within New York City. The Navy Yard warehouse lease expires in 2018 with no renewal agreement, necessitating the move.

"We outgrew the existing facility some time ago, and the only reason it still works is due to the outstanding efforts of our employees," VP of Operations Jacob Mittelman said. "We value them and hope they will come with us to this new facility."
B&H partnered with Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) for several years in an effort to find suitable, available space as part of its search. "The booming commercial real estate market has made finding a suitable space virtually impossible," Rob Kossar of JLL said. "Our search began in New York and continued to northern New Jersey then central New Jersey before finding a suitable facility in Florence Township."

Lakewood residents started a petition to halt construction on Vine street until the township widens the road. The letter was sent to Mayor Coles and the township committee.
Sign petition HERE
As new construction is starting in between Vine and Rt. 9 for over 1000 homes, traffic is getting worse...
We ask the Township to halt all construction until the street gets widened ... there are 3 schoools on vine and 5 on oak..... if we widen the streets it will help the traffic flow..... now there is no room for cars to stop and it is causing nightmares....

Vine street is just going to be getting busier and now is the chance to widen the street...
we demand all construction to stop until the street gets widened!

A year later and no shul or seats to daven in

A year later  (Here )and hundreds of kids  in westgate still have no seats to daven in shul. A year since the planning board played games and pushed off an application.  A year since unzereh publicly opposed a much needed shul expansion. A year since a psak was ignored and a lawyer was hired to prevent a shul. Another shul shell sits empty at 10th and Clifton after unzereh fought it. Yet, we are fighting to build shopping malls and homes for outsiders but  shul to daven in is obviously not a priority.  Those opposing souls have shown no sign in backing off, if anyone has any influence over them not only will you be saving nefashos  now but future generations as well.  Thank you.

Feeling bad you didn't go to Miami for midwinter?  Dr. Shanik Lakewood's pediatrician says at this point adults of child bearing age should not go to Miami, due to the threat of contracting the Zika Virus. He will reevaluate the ban in next few weeks but as of now other areas in Florida are ok. He released this statement 6 weeks ago.
"While there have been no new cases of Zika Virus in the last 45 days there is still a partial ban on travel to Miami Dade county for at least the next month. This still means that no women of child bearing age and/or their husband should travel to Miami Dade county, Florida due to the possibility of contracting the Zika virus, also anyone  that
travels to that area can bring the virus back and cause further spreading locally.... All other areas of Florida are safe for travel as of now. DR Shanik & DR. Heimowitz.".

Super Bowl ads

The local stores advertising Superbowl specials is unfortunately not a new trend in Lakewood. We have frum publications who wont put in a social media reference but stores with heimishe hashgachos are allowed to advertise finger food and  platters for the big game. Yes we know that super Sunday is sort of a holiday, that does not mean that we as yidden especially in Lakewood must publicize it. If someone follows sports-or watches the game that's no ones business but to openly embrace it and advertise super specials is something else. Is this the Chinuch we are teaching our children?, yes they DO read these magazines. More disturbing, a local Halacha center posted a footfall related shtickle Torah in honor of the Big game! have we lost our sensibilities?

Some will argue that sports is a kosher outlet, that may or may not be true but to accept it as our culture stands against everything we strive for. Thank you.
