Residents moving soon into Rockwell development in Lakewood

The new Rockwell development for Satmar Chasidim in Lakewood is almost ready and residents will be moving in within a months time. Day camps are already planned for the summer. Over chol Hamoed Pesach prospective buyers came by to see the new neighborhood.

Post Yom Tov stores out of items

Can't find lettuce, Flanken,  yeast etc. Stores in Lakewood ran out of items as distributors can not catch up to the post pesach restocking.  It takes up to 3 weeks for the industry to get back to normal following pesach. This year's schedule was challenging for the industry particular the kosher produce market.

Lakewood BOE Pres: Blame misplaced in Lakewood schools editorial

 In  a response to an outrageous editorial about Lakewood in the APP, Lakewood BOE President Mr. Barry Iann responded with a editorial of his own calling out the paper for its misplaced blame.
 "Simply put, the editorial started on the correct trajectory when it recognized that the Lakewood school district is grossly underfunded and that a legislative solution is required to address the problem. However, it took a turn into fiction by blaming the locally elected board. As Lakewood’s three state monitors have repeatedly stated since 2014, Lakewood does not have a fiscal mismanagement problem, Lakewood has a revenue and state funding problem." 

Mr. Iann also set the record straight regarding courtesy busing "The only courtesy busing that now exists in Lakewood is for the public school students" which is funded totally by the township.

Agudath Yisrael NJ holds Conference for local rabonim

Agudath Israel Conference for NJ Rabonim took place last week. 45 Rabbonim from across NJ towns such as Passaic, Lakewood, Edison, Deal, Marlboro, Toms River, attended. Lakewood Rabbonim, Rav Osher Chaim Leiberman, and  Rav Simcha Bunim Cohen, were among those who spoke and presented on timely topics. The discussions were not recorded.

Satmar Rebbe Reb Zalman visits new Rockwell development in Lakewood

The Satmar Rebbe Rav Zalman Leib Teitelbaum was in Lakewood today visiting the new Satmar Development on Cross street. The Rebbe was given a tour of the homes and gave a bracha for those moving in. A meeting took place to finalize plans for the new Satmar Mosdos in Lakewood.

Quality Farmers Market on Rte 9 in Howell more recently known as price point has closed and officially merged with Aisle 9 grocery market on Madison Ave in Lakewood. 

Farm Fresh  on Squankum is temporarily closed by the township. Perishable foods were removed from the store. No info available when the store will reopen.

Toys for Thought restocked with Fidget Spinners

The Rebbe paid a visit to the home of the Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva Rav Malkiel Kotler. Israeli media reports they discussed the Giyus bnei hsyeshivos in EY and questioned if there is a future for bnei Yeshiva in EY.  Also discussed was the police treatment and  incarceration of the Hapeles newspaper editors and the shocking silence by the frum members of Knesset. The Rebbe than took a tour of the new Satmar development.

- $2,759,684.78 yearly contract to Sodexo to provides custodial and  management services to the District.
