Gourgous weather today, rest of week, cold, says local weatherman
Lakewood weather- Hi good evening to all. Today was a stunning day! A small cold front will move in Monday with a chance of showers. Wednesday we will have a chance for a big rain storm. Behind that storm will bring in cold air and then probably our final snow threat will come Friday. Still to early to know anything but the threat is there. Stay tuned! Thanx for reading. Bais Horaah building boarded up again
The Lakewood inspection Dept has boarded up the building on 4th corner Madison for being an unsafe structure without certificates of occupancy watch Video HERE from APP.com. “Everybody enjoys this place, and I really hope they work something out quickly because it's a real shame,” says Rabbi Hasenfeld with Bais Hora’ah. according to This report from News12NJ -Lakewood officials are at odds with the tenants of an office building over certificates of occupancy. The building, located on Madison Avenue, houses a Federal Savings Bank, the Bais Hora'ah rabbinical school and the Lakewood Conference Center. According to the township’s code enforcement officer, the building is only approved to have the bank inside.
Everyone inside the building was forced to vacate, and township officials have boarded up the doors. Code enforcement officer Gene Canfield tells News 12 New Jersey that this is the third time officials have had to do this.
“It's been a bone of contention in the community, largely because with the three businesses in there, there's no parking,” says Canfield.
Canfield says that the last two times officials shut the businesses down, the tenants almost immediately pried the boards off the building and were operating their businesses again within 24 hours. Canfield says that the tenants face trespassing charges if they enter the building again.
The tenants say that they just want the dispute to be dealt with.
“Everybody enjoys this place, and I really hope they work something out quickly because it's a real shame,” says Rabbi Hasenfeld with Bais Hora’ah.
Officials say that despite the lack of certificates of occupancy, the tenants still pay rent to the owner.
