TVOL: Former Planning Member Attributes removal from Board to Vote against Masterplan
Former Lakewood Planning board member Mr. follman who forced positive changes to the masterplan before it was implemented and voted on. Reports surfaced that Mayor Coles was pressured to remove him by not reappointing him to the board for which he served on for many years. In an interview with The Voice Of Lakewood, Mr Follman attributed his removal from the board to his dissenting vote on the Master plan. TVOL reached out to Mayor Coles who declined to comment on the matter but he said the non reappointment had no connection to how he voted on the Planning board.↧

Security Guard Program for 108 Yeshivos in Lakewood
Armed Security guards in yeshivos to help with unruly children.
The Boe accepted bids for the non public schools for the Nonpublic School Security Program. The bids will be opened today January 17, 2018.

- The post security officer will assist the principal of the school, in all cases of missing children, emergency situations including any medical emergencies and any unruly or disruptive child.
The Lakewood Board of Education seeks from New Jersey licensed security companies, competitive proposals and pricing to provide to the nonpublic schools located in Lakewood, NJ, armed and unarmed security officers, services to be funded by the Nonpublic Security State Aid.
The Lakewood Community receiving the Non-Public School Security Program Funds consists of one hundred eight (108) private schools which are religious institutions. The religious aspect of the schools are an important factor when providing services for them as 98% of the schools are separated by gender creating a unique target audience for each school. In addition, due to the
religious nature, a strict dress code is adhered to for any service provider who is to provide services in the non-public schools.
Missing Child; Illness of Child; Unruly Behavior of Child The post security officer will assist the principal of the school, in all cases of missing children, emergency situations including any medical emergencies and any unruly or disruptive child. It is preferred that the security officer have defibrillator training.
Post Security Officer—School Entrance
Visitor Control—Entrance and Egress
Monitor visitor entry and egress in accordance with the visitor policy of the nonpublic school
and the Lakewood Board of Education, including, but not limited to the signing in and signing
out of all visitors and inspecting all packages being brought into the school. The main goal of
visitor control is to not permit unauthorized personnel in the school facility.
Delivery of Goods
Monitor the delivery of goods by vendors entering into the schools
Vendors and Contractors
Monitor the entry and egress of vendors and contractors working in the schools. It is noted that
the school security officer is not to leave his post to supervise any vendor or contractor doing
business with the school.
Parent Picking Up Child
The post security officer will assist the principal of the school in the process of parents picking
up their children early from school. The security officer will review the school’s written
practices of this procedure.
Missing Child; Illness of Child; Unruly Behavior of Child
The post security officer will assist the principal of the school, in all cases of missing children,
emergency situations including any medical emergencies and any unruly or disruptive child. It is
preferred that the security officer have defibrillator training.
Equipment; Alarms
The post security officer should have knowledge of any intrusion devices, security entry
systems locations and significance of control board signal indicators or alarm activators and/or
alarm sounding within the installation. The officer should have knowledge of any fire alarm
system locations, fire hydrants, fire extinguishers, and all security equipment and proper use of
same.
Anti-Bullying
The security officer shall comply with all applicable provisions of the New Jersey Anti-Bullying
Bill of Rights Act—N.J.S.A. 18A:37-13.1 et seq., all applicable code and regulations, and the AntiBullying
Policy of the Board of Education.
In accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:16-7.7 (c), a contracted service provider, who has witnessed, or
has reliable information that a student has been subject to harassment, intimidation, or
bullying shall immediately report the incident to any school administrator.
Other Duties as Assigned by School Principal
The post security officer may also be assigned other duties by the school principal that
complement the Nonpublic School Security Guidelines to ensure a safe and secure
environment.
General Scope of Services—Security Officers
Call for local law enforcement assistance when so requested by school administrator.
Cooperate with all local police, State police and others who have proof of identification
and validity or purpose.
Maintain visibility while on duty.
Intercede when needed in a potentially violent or disorderly act. However, at no time
should the security officer put his or her safety in jeopardy.
Shall not resort to physical force against any person, except in self-defense.
Security officer should not be used for school administrative or clerical work not
associated with duties as outlined in the School Security and Safety Plan.

Eagle Ridge Residents File Lawsuit Against Master Plan and Township
APP reports, A group of residents at Eagle Ridge Development in Lakewood has filed a civil lawsuit alleging township leaders mishandled the planning process that has threatened to turn Eagle Ridge Golf Club into a 1,000-home complex. The lawsuit names the Lakewood planning board, township committee and GDMS Holdings as defendants.
A lawyer for the Fairways Homeowners Association, said the township's planning board and committee violated state law when adopting a master plan last year. Instead, the board members played to developers' interests, lawyer Michele R. Donato said Wednesday.
-The planning board did not follow state Municipal Land Use Law, particularly when it comes to considering environmental impact and requiring or preserving open space.
-There are inconsistencies between ordinances passed by the township committee and the directives of the planning board, particularly related to road improvements that must come before rezoning.
-Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein had a conflict of interest, and the mayor's designee on the planning board should have been disqualified because she does not live in Lakewood.
-Lichtenstein is president of MSL Property Management, and the lawsuit says his clients include three principals of GDMS, the company that wants to develop Eagle Ridge.
Lichtenstein initially voted in support of the ordinances enacting the master plan, but was absent when the committee took its second and final vote. He has previously told the Asbury Park Press he has no direct involvement in GDMS, but some of the people who have an interest in it are his clients. He was not sure if they’re principals or not. “I know they have some connection to that business. They have some business interest,” he said in December. Read More at APP

Pedestrian struck and killed After Serious Head Injury
Updated: A Pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle after being hit earlier near rt 88 and Clover street in Lakewood. It happened at about 9:45 pm. The patient was taken to Kimball Hospital and was pronounced dead. This is the second time in week where a pedestrian was stuck and killed while crossing Lakewood streets at night in the dark. A investigation is underway at the scene, road is closed.

Circus Continues at the Lakewood planning Board
Last night at the township committee meeting Mayor Coles announced that a Planning board member resigned after he was only on for 1 week. Mr. Aaron Shain who was appointed on January 7th submitted his resignation.
The Mayor than added 2 new members (watch Video HERE minute 11:00)
one of them appears to be a Jackson resident according to the Lakewood List. Mr. Levy Isaacson was added to the 4 year term and Mr. Jacob Meyer for a 1 year term. The next Scheduled Planning board meeting is this coming Tuesday the 23rd of January.
In another slap in the face to Lakewood residents the township committee voted on a resolution taking away a turning center lane by Somerset and county line
because it inconvenienced a few local residents to get out of their driveways. Yet, when thousands or Lakewood residents pleaded for 2 years and spoke up at the master plan meetings NOT to add Density without upgrading infrastructure they ignored it. and only took the interest of the developers over the will of Lakewood.

ידידיי ומכובדיי קוראי ומתענגי הגליון 'מעדני הפרשה'הע"י.
ידידי בעל 'בדחי רבנן'פתר לי קצת מהלחץ, כי דברי תורה שאני כותב זה בבחינת 'זה מה יש', כי אינני מלקט רק כותב מה שנתחדש לי, ועל כן אין ברירה רק לקרא מה שיש (למי שקורא), וגם אם זה משוחזר, אז בדברי תורה לא מזיק אם חוזרים פעם שניה, אך הבדיחות, הקהל לא מוותר ורוצה טרי טרי תנור ראשון, וזה מהווה בעיה. אז תיתי לו לבעל ה'בדחי'שמיקל מעלי את העול, ואני מקווה שמבין שנינו יצא משהו שיעלה חיוך על השפתיים כי זאת המטרה. אבל ודאי שירשה לי קצת להוסיף נופך על שלו. כתב ב'בדחי'ששאלו לחילוני אחד, אם יודע את 'עשרת המכות', ענה 'מעולם לא ראיתי את 'הסרט המכות',
בעקבותיו נזכרתי בסיפור שקרא לי בתקופה שניסיתי להיות שדכן. הצעתי בחור אוורירי לבחורת סמינר, לאחר הפגישה הראשונה סירבה הבחורה לשידוך, שאלתי אותה למה היא מסרבת? סיפרה לי, כי היא ציטטה לו אימרה מהספר 'מכתב מאליהו' (להגר"א דסלר), והוא לא ידע במה מדובר. שאלתי אותה: וכי את חושבת שמה שלומדים בסמינר שלך לומדים בישיבה? וכי לדעתך זו סיבה להגיד לא לשידוך?, צחקה המדוברת בצחוק מריר והסבירה לי: שאלתי אותו אם הוא קרא פעם את הספר הזה (מכתב מאליהו) והוא ענה לי: את הספר לא קראתי אבל ראיתי את הסרט.
ואגב כך נזכרתי בווארט: אומרים שתלמידות סמינר גייטסהד לומדות כ"כ הבתמדה, שאחרי החתונה הן מבקשות מבהעלים שילכו לעבוד ולהביא פרנסה כדי שהן תוכלנה להמשיך ללמוד.
השבוע יש את מכת הארבה, גם בזמננו עדיין יש שאריות מאותה מכה, כי נוהגים שבשלום זכר נותנים ארבה'ס שנכנס בחשאי וכו', וזכורני כשעשיתי שלום זכר ואחי ר'אברהם הכין 8 קילו ארבעס מתובלים אוח או, הקהל ליקק את האצבעות, ובשעה 9 אני מבחין כי הארבעס על השולחנות אזלו, בבחינת 'לא נשאר ארבה אחד', כי הקהל פשוט מילאו שקיות עם ארבעס צידה לדרך, ומאידך, קהל גדול עדיין זורם פנימה, כי הקול יצא בעיר שכאן יש ארבעס לעילא ולעילא, ואני אנא אני בא?. לא אחד כמוני יתייאש כ"כ מהר, ביקשתי מגבאי ביהכנ"ס שיגש לבימה, ושיתן מכה חזקה ויכריז ויאמר: זה עתה נודע לי שהעירוב נקרע ואסור לטלטל... תתארו לכם מה אירע אז... רחש לחש נשמע מהקהל וקול רשרוש של ניילונים שנשלפים מהכיסים של המעילים החל לפצפץ, ועל השולחנות התחילו להיערם כמה וכמה סוגי ארבעס, גם מהשלום זכר'ס האחרים שנושאיהם נתקעו איתם אצלי בלי עירוב. רק כשנוכחתי לראות שמרבים העם להביא ויש כבר מספיק ארבעס לכל הקהל, שלחתי מישהו שיודיע לקהל שכנראה חלה כאן טעות והעירוב בסדר והיה כאן טעות בעירבוביה.
