FYI who ever uses Waze they came out with a update and they didn't tell anyone. If you go to Brooklyn or in general you use the parkway a lot it will not take you on the express if you don't have add toll/hov passes it could save you a lot of time when you travel. Click settings, navigation, add toll/hov and then it will take you through there only do it if you have E-ZPass

Will Lakewood Allow Sales of Marijuana?
So Far there is no indication from Lakewood township where they stand on the legalization of Marijuana. Governor Phil Murphy campaigned to legalize Recreational Marijuana in NJ. Some Ocean County towns have adopted resolutions to ban it. Toms River, Berkeley, Point Pleasant Beach, Lavallette and Seaside Heights have all adopted resolutions against legalization of Marijuana. Brick township is taking a wait abd see approach. Murphy still needs approval of the state Legislature prior to signing a bill. Ocean county Freeholders Introduced legislation to oppose legalization of Marijuana.

In late 2017, Point Pleasant Beach passed an ordinance banning all marijuana businesses in the borough. Berkeley Township became the second town to formally take on the issue, this week introducing an ordinance to ban the sale of recreational marijuana in the towship.
At Tuesday night's Toms River Township Council reorganization meeting, Councilman George Wittmann said he wants to see the town work on an ordinance banning the sales.
"We do not need it here," Wittmann said.
Seaside Heights Mayor Anthony Vaz has expressed a similar sentiment, Business Administrator Christopher Vaz said Wednesday.
"Other than the mayor presenting his personal point of view to media, the borough hasn't taken any concrete action at this point and we will probably wait and see what, if anything, happens in Trenton," Christopher Vaz said.
In Brick Township, where Mayor John G. Ducey was sworn in to his second term as mayor on Tuesday by Murphy, officials are taking a wait-and-see approach.
"We are waiting to see what the regulations are," Ducey said Wednesday. "The estimates are that the regs will not be available for 18-36 months."
Point Pleasant Beach officials, in the ordinance passed there, said one of the reasons for banning the businesses is due to "special security concerns," but did not spell out what those special concerns entail.
Allowing marijuana sales would send a "wrong message" to children, said Berkeley Township Mayor Carmen Amato, whose town has an award-winning DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. He expressed concerns that marijuana is a gateway to heroin, which has gripped Ocean County in a deadly crisis for more than three years.

Fire elections Feb 17, Increase 1.3 Million in Budget, commissioners
The annual fire elections will take place Saturday February, 17, 2018 from 2-10 pm. On the ballot asking Lakewood taxpayers to approve the fire budget for a total of $6,250,980.00
Last years budget was $5,019,295 a tax increase of 1.3 million dollars over last years budget despite all the new construction. also .Voters will be asked to elect 2 commissioners for a 3 year term. Voting will take place only at the municipal building.

Matzav.com- It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of R’ Shlomo Eliyahu Brustowsky z”l of Lakewood, NJ, He was 29 years old.
Reb Shlomo Eliyahu suffered from a protracted illness, enduring tremendous yissurim. His pure neshamah returned to its Creator this evening, plunging family and friends into mourning. Reb Shlomo Eliyahu was a son of Rabbi and Mrs. Aaron and Miriam Brustowsky. Rav Aaron is a longtime mechanech at the Lakewood Cheder and a renowned baal tefillah at Beth Medrash Govoha.

Lakewood has now become synonymous with bad Planning in NJ. At a hearing in Manchester for a proposed developmen,t residents objected comparing the proposal to a mini Lakewood.

A plan to place 4,000 new homes in Manchester met opposition from hundreds of residents and environmentalists on Thursday who gathered in Manchester Township High School.
They objected to a plan by Hovsons Inc., a Tinton Falls-based company that is seeking a permit from the state Department of Environmental Protection to develop nearly 1,000 acres of a former mining quarry called Heritage Minerals. The proposal "is too large and will cause a massive amount of environmental damage," said Taylor McFarland of the environmental advocacy group New Jersey Sierra Club.
