Toms River to spend $10 million to stop development from Lakewood
APP reports Toms River township introduced a bill to buy more than 50 acres off Route 9 near the Lakewood border for $10.3 million to protect it from potential development. The 56 acres of land is are located in Toms River's northern section, off Route 9, between Riverwood Drive and Cox Cro Road. It is in the area where council members recently voted to ban real estate soliciting for five years after residents complained that aggressive real estate solicitors were ruining their quality of life.
The Township Council took the first step toward buying the properties Tuesday night, when council members voted 5 to 0 to introduce an ordinance allocating money for the purchase. The council introduced a companion measure that authorizes acquisition of the property through purchase or eminent domain. read more at APP

Nisht in unzer machane
Updated via comment: Just for the record, it's the second shabbos that people have burglarized the shul, ransacking it and stirring up trouble. Obviously it's not a random act and was done to incite hate and fan the flames. For all the skeptics, which regular ganef steals shul brochures and "just happens" to put them into 2 other shuls who "just happen" to have amongst their members,
people who are violently and vocally opposed to the Helberg's (Avi and Pinny - sick!!) shul? Oops, sorry - not "just happened" - these ehrliche leshaim shomayim tzaddikim would call it "hashgocha pratis"!!!
submitted via comment.
Westgate mafia strikes again! While most of us spent our Friday evenings the way most frum people do, there were a couple of shady individuals who illegally entered Rabbi Helberg's office and after ransacking the place, stole some shul paraphernalia and distributed it to BM of Westgate mispalelim and Rabbi Verschleizer mispalelim, to incite hate and jealousy.

Tax dollars at work: Blueclaws and Lakewood extend lease through 2055
$175k a year for 40 years!!!
LAKEWOOD, NJ - Your BlueClaws and Lakewood Township have agreed to a new lease and our fans will be happy to know that your BlueClaws will be here at FirstEnergy Park for the next 40 years. The lease extension, which runs through 2055, was announced today by Team President Joe Finley.
"This is a banner day for the BlueClaws and we are thrilled to be able to stay at FirstEnergy Park for the foreseeable future," said Finley, who has been the BlueClaws Team President since the club's inception. "The BlueClaws and the Township of Lakewood have had a tremendous relationship over the last 15 years and we look forward to many more great years of BlueClaws baseball in Lakewood."
The BlueClaws debuted in 2001 and have delivered another form of affordable, family entertainment to the area. The Jersey Shore community has responded, with over 6.4 million fans coming to FirstEnergy Park over the last 15 years. The team has led the South Atlantic League in attendance in each of their 15 seasons.
"Since 2001, our main goal has been to bring affordable, family fun to Lakewood and the Jersey Shore. This agreement ensures our commitment to the area and we look forward to being an active member of the Township and of Jersey Shore community for many years," said Finley.
On the field, BlueClaws fans have seen 69 former players go on to play in Major League Baseball and the team has won three South Atlantic League titles (2006, 2009, and 2010).
FirstEnergy Park is a state-of-the-art facility which includes 6,588 fixed seats, 16 Luxury Suites, two Party Decks, the Monmouth Medical Center Champions Club, three Investors Bank picnic areas, the 9,000 square-foot Dr. Bernard's Kids Zone, two grass berms, an indoor batting cage, and a 360-degree concourse.

Dont lure away my cleaning help
Its erev Pesach and you planned to change over tomorrow night, you scheduled your cleaning lady to come, she doesn't show up. She never missed a day and didn't call in sick. You find out another desperate yiddeneh offered her more money to come clean by her. This is not hypothetical but its actually happening again. People are paying close to $17 an hour for cleaning help taking away cleaning help from the people who have them on a steady basis. Poskim debate the issue if its Assur al pi halacha. However think of the tzaar caused on someone else who is left with no cleaning help forced to work twice as hard, is that the feeling you want going into the Pesach seder?
