Take Back Lakewood has obtained the letter that was sent from A. Akerman which reads as follows:

From: "Albert Akerman" <aakerman@lakewoodni .gov>
Date: Oct 27, 2016 1:06 PM
Subject: Master Plan
To: "Justin Flancbaum"
Cc:
Justin,
Although we have discussed this issue on numerous occasions over the past few weeks, I am sending this email to formally convey the township committee's opinion on density as it pertains to the master plan.
At our last committee meeting, the committee unanimously voted for me to inform you that we are against any increased density for Lakewood. As you prepare your recommendations for the committee, please ensure that the proposed master plan does not include increased density for any zone in Lakewood.
Thank you,
Albert

At the 10/6/16 Township Committee meeting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCj7_0DlDQQ at minute 24:38, Mayor Miller made the following announcement:

“As far as I’m concerned – my message out there – I’m done with all the density – I’m done with any additional rezoning – as far as I’m concerned under my watch as the mayor there is not going to be any rezoning from this committee – I defer to the master plan committee – but I think the sentiment out there is that we’re at capacity. We’re really at capacity and I kind of agree with you.”

See also from minute 35:00 until the end where the committee voiced an opposition to further density in Lakewood.

At 39:30 a motion was unanimously passed instructing committeeman Akerman to send a letter to Justin Flancbaum instructing him as to how they would like the master plan be constructed. At the subsequent Township Committee Meeting, Committeeman Akerman was instructed to circulate this letter to all of the members of the Planning Board and the Master plan committee and subcommittees.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all those chaburos that will be beginning their limudim this week. The limud will focus on the concept of Meleches Machsheves - the idea that in order for an action to be considered a melacha, one must perform it with the intent and desire to achieve the result of that melacha.

Kids walking after dark from clustered bus stops, get those reflectors out

The clock change means lots of Lakewood kids will be dropped off from school after dark. Unlike previous years in Lakewood were students were dropped off closer to their homes, this year, for many kids, its a longer trek back home from the bus stops. The LSTA has clustered bus stops in certain areas in order to maximize routes and efficiency, but this will now add to safety concerns with thousands of children walking a longer time after dark and crossing busy streets. Additionally, some routes with younger children will first get to their stops after nightfall since these routes run late. Schools plan on having safety talks with students, making sure they wear reflectors and are accustomed to the time change.
A safe trip to all Be''H.

A block vote for All

$

This weeks issues of the local Lakewood papers, had articles about the civic duty to vote but more so,it stressed the importance of having a unified block vote. The power of a united block vote is essential to the politicians as much as it is to the constituents who vote. Over the years through the power of the Lakewood tzibbur voting block, we were able to properly advocate for the unique needs of the community which was beneficial to all. However the current system has allowed self proclaimed spokespersons and askanim to present themselves to politicians as representatives of the community and thereby using the koach hatzibbur for personal gain. The tzibbur no longer has trust in an establishment that does not reach out to everyone. A Vaad that signs an anonymous letter, telling you who to vote for is insulting and belittling to the entire tzibbur. To hold closed door meetings without public input and no transparency, just further creates a mistrust and bad feelings. Putting up candidates for BOE who no one heard of, without reaching out to the public, makes a mockery of the taxpayers.
A block vote is very important only when its used for the taxpayers who make up the block, not when its used and abused for a few yechidim.

LAKEWOOD: Jewish owner of Shoe Palace on Route 9 was robbed at gunpoint by a masked man in front of customers. Suspect managed to get away. The store is located in the new shopping plaza on rt 9 North near the Howell border past Chemed. (Kol Haolam)

Matzav reports The gun-toting lunatic, said to be of Hispanic lineage, barged into Shoe Palace, located at 6951 Route 9, next to Athena’s Diner, and told everyone to get down as he approached an employee and demanded to be given all the money in the cash register.

All shoppers in the store fell to the ground in fear, with many whispering words of Tehillim, shaking from fright.

The man made off with the money he was given. He is still at large, with local police conducting an investigation.

Boruch Hashem, no one was injured in the incident

Why vote NO on ballot question 2 in NJ

$

NJ, residents are being bombarded with mailings and robo calls regarding question two on the ballot pertaining to the gas tax. In Lakewood one of the Vaad election mailers said the money will go to road projects such as widen rt 9. The money will go to Trenton regardless. NJ 1015 conservative host Bill Spadea is leading a campaign to vote NO on Two see video HERE  NJ  LT. GOV. Kim Guadagno told nj 101.5 that the key for voters on ballot question two is the fact the question is misleading. Nowhere in the question or the explanation does it say that the state can borrow up to $12 billion and
something like that needs to be clearly stated. “Everybody look at that ballot question and ask yourselves where’s the number $12 billion, and if it’s not there vote no,” Guadagno said. Joining her Congressman Lance: I don’t think NJ ballot question 2 should pass
This question has nothing to do with the gas tax but more about borrowing money and put NJ taxpayers in more debt.
