Lakewood BOE ELECTION NOTICE - Please be advised that the 2 year open board seat which appears on the ballot is not, in fact, an open seat.  The seat was filled by Ms. Thea Jackson after the balloting information was sent to the County Board of Elections.  The seat will not be up until next year for the balance of the term. Vote write in  only for Moshe Raitzik and vote Dovid Egert on Ballot.

Learn the Truth about Ballot Question #2. Don't be fooled by that Big Lie about a "Lock Box" for the gas tax

 Question #2 sample ballot
Do you approve amending the Constitution to dedicate all revenue from the State motor fuels tax and petroleum products gross receipts tax to the Transportation Trust Fund? This amendment would provide that an additional three cents of the current motor fuels tax on diesel fuel, which is not dedicated for transportation purposes, be dedicated to the Transportation Trust Fund. In doing so, the entire State tax on diesel fuel would be used for transportation purposes. The entire State tax on gasoline is currently dedicated to the Transportation Trust Fund and used for transportation purposes.
The amendment would also provide that all of the revenue from the current State tax on petroleum products gross receipts be dedicated to the Transportation Trust Fund. In doing so, the entire State tax on petroleum products gross receipts would be used for transportation purposes.
This amendment does not change the current tax on motor fuels or petroleum products gross receipts

Do you really think NJ's richest insiders are spending all this money on Ballot Question #2 because they care about taxpayers? They are already bragging that most of the $12 billion they plan to borrow will be spent on expensive Democrat pay-back projects like the empty trains between Camden and Trenton. Only a "No" vote can stop this scheme. Only a "No" vote can force these insiders to again spend gas tax money for roads and bridges.
Ballot Question #2 is super dishonest–even by Jersey standards. Christie Wall Street Republicans, and Sweeney/Prieto Big Union Democrats just hiked the NJ gas tax by 61%. They want a “Yes” vote on Ballot Question #2 to pay back their big donors and make that tax hike permanent.

A “yes” vote “dedicates” all gas tax money to “the transportation system”. That sounds like a good idea to most people. However a “dedicated” tax has a special meaning to Wall Street bankers.
New Jersey’s State Constitution does requires voter approval whenever the state borrows money. When “independent” state authorities borrow money without voter approval, taxpayers have no legal or moral obligation to bail them out with tax hikes. Wall Street banks are worried that New Jersey voters will wake up and refuse to pay billions in loans that were never approved by voters.
However, taxpayers can be forced to pay debts that are secured by a “dedicated” tax. That is why both the Republican and Democrat establishments want you to vote “yes” vote on Ballot Question 2.
A “yes” vote on Tuesday “dedicates” all gas tax money to “the transportation system”. That new “dedicated” tax will let the insolvent NJ Transportation “Trust” Fund Authority hock future gas tax collections for the next 20 years. This would let the TTF Authority borrow another $12 billion on top of the $16 billion it previously borrowed without voter approval. Since all future tax hike money will be going to Wall Street, we will again have nothing left to build and fix roads and bridges once the borrowed money is spent. That means we will have another “crisis” with dangerous roads and bridges in just a few years.
Finally, the term “transportation system” is also a dishonest. Most people think that gas tax money pays for roads and bridges. However, billions of dollars of “transportation trust” funds restored “historic” train stations in towns like Richland where there are no trains. They built the most expensive (and usually empty) train in the country between Camden and Trenton. They built decorative brick sidewalks for an upscale park and shopping area in Toms River.
Because the $16 billion previously borrowed by the TTF Authority was never approved by voters, taxpayers have no moral or legal obligation to pay it back. We should just let the insolvent Transportation Trust Fund go bankrupt. However, a “yes” vote on Tuesday may take away that option.

Of Gas Prices Drops Slightly Over Last 2 Weeks
New Jersey voters gave close but convincing approval Tuesday to a constitutional amendment dedicating all gas-tax revenues toward transportation projects. Early returns showed a close race, but big margins in North Jersey drove Public Question 2 to victory. Unofficial results showed that with 98 percent of precincts reporting, the ‘yes’ vote was more than 7 percentage points ahead, nearly 203,000 votes. Those unofficial returns showed 53.6 percent in favor and 46.4 percent opposed. read more HERE.

Lakewood kids rejoice with Trump win, no more whole wheat bread

A Trump victory was good news to many Lakewood kids but nothing to do with politics.
Parents, Rebbeim, and moros were having a hard time with kids not eating school lunches as the kids refused to comply with  regulations implemented by first lady Michelle Obama. The menu calls for whole grain whole wheat bread and no white or rye bread. According to a report the New school lunch standards implemented as a result of First Lady Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity campaign have led to more than 1 million children leaving the lunch line. The kids hope with a new president the good old lunches will be served.

TBL-There is a Township Committee meeting tomorrow night at 231 3rd Street at 7:30 PM.
We urge all concerned residents of Lakewood to attend to show support. If you are concerned about the unimpeded growth, congestion, density and traffic, this is your chance! If you can, prepare a 4 minute speech. If not, please come anyway and fill up seats in the room so that we can have a strong showing of concerned residents.
"But I'm not the type of guy to do these things" - It's okay, com anyway and just sit and watch (and clap)
"But all we'll get is insincere promises" - Come anyway. Ask the difficult questions and demand action from the committee members.
It's time to take a stand and to tell our elected officials that this can't continue!

Chaos, confusion and a lack of preperdness and planning at polling places in Lakewood

$

Election day across Lakewood was exciting, there was a  historic presidential vote on the ballot, but on the other hand it was an abysmal collapse of the election infrastructure across Lakewood. Voters waited in lines for over two hours in packed rooms and social halls to cast their vote. Districts were confusing as to who votes where, people living o the same block were told to vote in two different places. Districts with a few thousand registered voters were only staffed with a few voting machines.
True, many factors contributed to the chaos, Parents brought children to the booth and have them see a democratic voting process take place, and the nature of a democratic election brings more people to the polls.
However a lack of planing on behalf of township officials and the last minute write in endorsements by the Lakewood VAAD and IGUD (which was a mistake) contributed much to the mayhem and made the actual voting take longer by writing in long names. These slots for the BOE were empty for a while and the Igud could have got names up on the ballot earlier preventing the write ins.
Come tonight to the township meting and demand a better election preparedness and planning for next year.
