In the Vaad election Pamphlet they made sure to bring up a lawsuit involving the Republican candidate for LT. Gov but failed to mention anything about the democrat LT. governor.
As of January 2017, 16 states have passed anti-BDS legislation. The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement The Global Campaign to Delegitimize Israel. Sheila Oliver, Murphy's running mate was one of only three legislators to vote against the landmark anti-BDS law last year which banned pension investments with companies that boycotted Israel. New Jersey’s anti-BDS legislation was signed into law last summer. The Vaad statement went aggressively against anti Semitic behavior and statements by politicians across NJ its surprising that this detail was left out. The ADL writes this about BDS:
Many of the founding goals of the BDS movement, including denying the Jewish people the universal right of self-determination – along with many of the strategies employed in BDS campaigns are anti-Semitic. Many individuals involved in BDS campaigns are driven by opposition to Israel’s very existence as a Jewish state. Often time, BDS campaigns give rise to tensions in communities – particularly on college campuses – that can result in harassment or intimidation of Jews and Israel supporters, including overt anti-Semitic expression and acts. This dynamic can create an environment in which anti-Semitism can be express more freely. And, all too often, BDS advocates employ anti-Semitic rhetoric and narratives to isolate and demonize Israel.
Murphy was quick to say that he would have voted for the anti BDS legislation
and the campaign issued this statement: He has spoken out forcefully about recent incidents of anti-Semitism, making it clear that our state will never cave to intolerance. That commitment will not change as governor, including enforcing New Jersey's anti-BDS law, an effort that, as lieutenant governor, Sheila Oliver, will fully join."

Guadango campaign posted comments from Jewish activists:
“I was really troubled that Phil Murphy’s running mate supports the virulently anti-Israel BDS movement and was one of only three Assembly votes against the landmark Anti-BDS legislation that overwhelmingly passed the NJ Assembly and Senate last year," said Mark Levenson, a longtime Jewish community activist and a leader in the successful effort to pass New Jersey’s Anti-BDS legislation. “On this critical issue, you are either with us on the right side of the issue or you are against us. There is no middle ground. Jewish leaders are standing with Kim Guadagno and Carlos Rendo because they will always stand with Israel, oppose hypocritical double standard discrimination against the Jewish State and speak out against antisemitism.”
"New Jersey cannot support the Murphy-Oliver anti-Israel ticket," said Senator Bob Singer, a co-sponsor of New Jersey’s anti-BDS legislation. "Israel is an ally and deserves our steadfast support from all levels of government. We need leaders with the moral clarity to stand against violence and the BDS movement, and that's why I support Kim Guadagno and Carlos Rendo.”
“Phil Murphy and Sheila Oliver have again shown they don’t have our backs,” said Woodcliff Lake Mayor Carlos Rendo, Kim Guadagno’s running mate. “First, we find out that Sheila Oliver took an unsanctioned trip to Cuba while they were harboring the fugitive murderer of a New Jersey State Trooper. Now we find out she was one of the few legislators to vote against Israel. As an immigrant, I find it insulting that Phil Murphy would choose Sheila Oliver as a running mate.”
“Instead of boycotting, divesting or sanctioning Israel, Kim Guadagno and Carlos Rendo understand we should be strengthening cultural and economic ties,” said Duvi Honig, CEO & Founder of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce. “From funding school choice programs to providing the necessary security to ensure the Jewish community can worship safely, Kim will help strengthen our community and improve the quality of life for all New Jerseyans.”
